The session reviewed South Asia’s HPV vaccination efforts within the WHO 90-70-90 strategy, noting five countries with national programs and two with subnational rollouts. Lessons from Sri Lanka, India, and Pakistan highlighted integration with adolescent health schemes, training, and media engagement. Challenges included vaccine supply, funding, and sociocultural barriers, particularly consent and awareness. WHO updates endorsed one- or two-dose schedules, with single-dose trials in Kenya, Costa Rica, and India showing high efficacy. Gavi’s catalytic support and easing supply constraints were emphasized for program expansion. Communication strategies underscored stakeholder engagement and rapid response to misinformation for sustainable delivery.
