Country Snapshots – Philippines

The Philippines introduced HPV vaccination in 2013, initially via pilot programs and later expanded through a school-based immunization platform targeting Grade 4 girls. Between 2021–2023, strategies shifted to community-based approaches for girls aged 9–14. Key enablers include Department of Education collaboration and partner support, while high vaccine costs and reaching out-of-school girls remain major challenges. Coverage improvements rely on integrating routine schedules, strengthening awareness, and addressing hesitancy.
