Country experiences on delivery strategies; Myanmar EPI

Myanmar introduced HPV vaccination in 2020 targeting 9-year-old girls but faced program interruptions in 2021–2022 due to instability and supply shortages. In 2023, the program resumed with a catch-up campaign, shifting from a two-dose to a single-dose schedule aligned with WHO recommendations. Delivery combined school-based and community approaches, supported by the Vaccine Management Information System (VMIS) for planning and monitoring. Strong collaboration between health, education, and local partners enabled 88–90% coverage despite challenges in reaching out-of-school and hard-to-reach populations. Social mobilization leveraged teachers, volunteers, and localized communication to address barriers and promote uptake.
