The Africa Cancer Registries Network (AFCRN), established in 2012, brings together 35 population-based registries from 25 sub-Saharan African countries. Originating from earlier collaborations in Uganda and Kenya, the network now serves as a regional hub for cancer registry support under IARC. Its work includes survival studies, trend analysis, record linkages with screening and HPV vaccine registries, and capacity building through e-learning and collaborating centers. AFCRN plays a critical role in data-driven monitoring to evaluate and guide cervical cancer elimination strategies.
